The music echoed a pronounced, loud drumbeat as 400 female graduates marched step-by-step to the cadence of the drumbeat, down a very long entryway right up to the very edge of the stage. 鈥淚t was the most dramatic ceremony I鈥檝e ever seen,鈥 said 海角原创鈥檚 President Beverly Warren. 鈥淭hese powerful women marching directly toward us to the beat of this powerful music, as if to say, 鈥榞et ready, world. Here we come!鈥 It gave me the chills. I鈥檒l remember that moment for a very long time.鈥

海角原创 Makes First Team Appearance in NCAA National Women鈥檚 Golf Championship Since 2010

The No. 15 海角原创 women鈥檚 golf team has qualified for the 2017 NCAA National Championship after finishing the NCAA Lubbock Regional in sixth place at 11-over par 875 (305-287-283). 海角原创 entered the day tied with No. 2 UCLA in sixth place but held its ground and fought off a tough battle from Oregon State. The Beavers shot 10-under par Wednesday and briefly moved ahead of the Golden Flashes, but 海角原创 recorded five birdies as a team over the final six holes, despite some late winds, to secure a two-stroke lead in sixth.

WHAT: 海角原创 will celebrate its newest graduates at its Spring 2017 Commencement. In total, 海角原创 will confer 5,636 degrees, including 992 associate degrees, 3,319 bachelor鈥檚 degrees, 1,139 master鈥檚 degrees, 181 doctoral degrees and five educational specialist degrees. 

In observance of Veterans Day, 海角原创 will be closed Nov. 11 and will reopen Nov. 12.

  • The University Library will be open until 10 p.m. with .
  • The Student Recreation and Wellness Center will have adjusted hours 鈥 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.

This year鈥檚 May 4 Commemoration, to be held May 1-4, 2026, will include special remembrances of John Cleary, one of the nine wounded students, and Jerry M. Lewis, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Sociology, who served as a faculty marshal during the campus shootings and worked tirelessly to ensure that the legacy of May 4 would endure.
