Tree Campus USA Honor Comes Home to Kent Campus on Earth Day; E-Inside; April 27, 2009;

Campus Environment and Operations planted a very significant tree April 22 to jointly celebrate Arbor Day and Earth Day. The new addition to the Kent Campus landscape was planted between Stopher, Johnson and Olson residence halls.

At the tree planting ceremony, the Tree Campus USA award was formally presented to 海角原创. Gregg S. Floyd, vice president for finance and administration, accepted the award on behalf of the university. This ceremony was the formal presentation for the Kent Campus' national recognition as a Tree Campus USA honoree. The Kent Campus is the only college or university in Ohio that has been recognized by the program. An similar awards ceremony will be held every year the university is awarded Tree Campus certification. In recognition of the honor and the award ceremony on campus, the Tree Campus flag flew in the Kent Student Center the week of April 20.
