In honor of the 75th anniversary of the comic book super heroine Wonder Woman, 海角原创鈥檚 College of Arts and Sciences, the Ohio Humanities Council and the Cleveland Public Library have partnered to organize a symposium that celebrates the historical trends that have changed the world of comics, American popular culture and feminism. 海角原创鈥檚 Department of Residence Services has established a new living-learning community for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and asexual (LGBTQA) students and their allies in the newly renovated Korb Hall this fall. The community of 25 students will find a home on one floor in Korb Hall, which is open to students of all class standings. High up on the 12th floor lies an historical wonderland of adventure, where one of the world鈥檚 largest Babar collections comes to life with the flick of a light switch. The lovable elephant, with a multi-generational following since 1931, shares his human mannerisms through 3600 different items, including a 6-foot-tall plush Babar, dressed to perfection in his signature three-piece green suit. The green and blue colored algae that grows out of control, and often washes up on the shoreline of Lake Erie, is not only unsightly but harmful to many species including humans. In Ohio, the western basin of Lake Erie has experienced some of the worst harmful algal blooms in recent years. The blooms have been detected this summer, as they were last summer when the area saw a harmful bloom of record size.
