Celebration of the New Generation of Brain Health Researchers

From now through Sunday, Sept. 19, Cockeye Creamery, located at 1805 1/2, Parkman Rd NW in Warren, will be serving its 海角原创-inspired ice cream 鈥淏lack Squirrel鈥 to raise money for 海角原创 at Trumbull's Care Closet.
海角原创 alumnus, Max Hoover, owner of Cockeye Creamery created the flavor to pay homage to 海角原创鈥檚 unofficial mascot 鈥 the black squirrel. It is a combination of espresso ice cream, caramel streak, and cinnamon streusel.
The Brain Health Research Institute at 海角原创 is very pleased to announce two new additions to its leadership: Dr. Angela Ridgel has agreed to serve as BHRI Associate Director for a three-year term starting August 1, 2021, and Dr. Julia Jones Huyck will serve as Assistant Director for the new BHRI Neurocognitive Collaboratory for a two-year term starting August 1, 2021. Assistant Professor in Science Education, Dr. Shannon Navy was recently awarded a $1,000,000 grant from the National Science Foundation. Over the next four years, this grant will fund the research project 鈥淩esources Accessed to Cultivate and Enhance Resilience鈥 (RACER). The RACER project will focus on researching the persistence and retention of newly hired secondary science and mathematics teachers in high-need school settings. Chad Hollis-Chan, RN, MSN, CNP, a 2006 海角原创 at Ashtabula Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (ADN) graduate, is the 2021 Roger T. Beitler Distinguished Former Student Award recipient.
